At Instinctive Driving we believe there is a gap in driver education after successful completion to gain your P Plate licence and then driving on your own or with friends in the open roads of South Australia.

We have developed a 1-day course teaching drivers the dangers and the impact of speed in their own vehicle.  You will learn advanced driving skills while driving at legal speeds on the road. It does not take much to lose control of a vehicle and this course gives you the opportunity to learn these lessons in a safe and controlled environment.

Our team of experienced instructors provide lessons in theory and practical knowledge. Our courses are not just for young drivers, but also for parents and mature drivers.

This course is a full day event  and is suitable for any driver aged 16 to 80 (P-plate drivers a specialty and L-plate drivers with a minimum of 50 hours) and suitable to most cars including four wheel drives and light commercial vehicles.

 

Detailed Course Inclusions

1. The correct systems of car control: seating, vision, and steering
2. Correct braking techniques for both ABS and non-ABS vehicles
3. Skid causation, basic skid control, and skid prevention
4. Raising the driver’s level of awareness in relation to speed, reaction times and stopping distances
5. Learn how your vehicle reacts in emergency situations

The classroom component covers basic road safety concepts and the key principals of defensive driving including:

1. Understanding of how a driver’s attitudes, motivations, and risk-taking behaviour can affect that driver’s safety and the safety of other road users
2. The Golden Rules of Defensive Driving and how to apply them to everyday driving
3. The importance of correctly inflated tyres and the condition and type of tyres
4. Road laws and the introduction of any new laws

1. Bookings can be rescheduled or transferred
2. We require 7 business days notice to reschedule a booking or a $50 rescheduling fee will occur.
